The Chancellor, Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Ibrahim Gambari on independence day solicits the support of Nigerians for the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to overcome the nation’s economic crisis and others challenges the country is currently facing.
Prof. Gambari, who was former Foreign Affairs minister and the nation’s permanent representative to the United Nations, urged Nigerians to go beyond ethnicity, religion and cultural diversification and give their support to the president in order for the country to see through her various challenges and shortcomings.
He stated that every citizen is charged with the civic responsibility to make the country great and further added that Nigeria’s democracy has been sustained over its 56 years of independence in 1960.
Gambari, a former under-secretary of the United Nations said though the country is not yet where its other colleagues are and it is still lagging behind in some development criteria but he is optimistic for a better Nigeria under Buhari’s administration
He subsequently sought Nigerians’ support for the Buhari’s administration’s agenda which among are: fighting corruption, terrorism and insecurity as well
