The 300-level Mass Communication students of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, have sensitised members of the Malete Community on the importance of child education.
Held at the L.G.E.A Pilot primary School, Malete, the programme was with the theme “Education Is My Right, My Right Is Education.”
In her address of welcome, the Head Mistress of the school, Mrs. Ayodele Muhammed, commended the organisers for enlightening the people of the community on the importance of child education.
She said that the students have done a great job by enlightening the people of the community and the children about the important of western education.
The school head remarked that she had been looking forward to the programme for so long because of the rate at which children were abused in the community, adding that the school has been contributing its own quota by imparting knowledge to pupils from the community.
“The University has always been contributing to the development of the community in different ways,” she remarked.
She, therefore, urged the state government to pay more attention to child education, pointing out that the children of today can only become good leaders of tomorrow with sound education.
